Jackie Valdez is based out of Chicago, IL. She engages with repetitive printing and paper-making practices
in order to meditate on familial memory and connect with her Mexican heritage. Valdez holds a BA from
the University of Illinois at Chicago in Art History with a focus in Latin American Colonial Art. She has
exhibited at Chicago Art Department, Side Street Studio Arts, Woman Made Gallery, Agitator Gallery and
more. She has work in collections for the Chicago Printers Guild Archive at the Harold Washington Library.
Valdez is currently the Programming Director at Awakenings, a non-profit arts organization located in
Ravenswood, where she leads the development of free creative healing arts programs for survivors.
